    The Opportunity - National Account Manager (Foods Division)


    Solent Group is looking for a proactive National Account Manager to nurture relationships with customers and manufacturing partners. In this role, you will manage existing accounts and explore new business opportunities to expand our prestigious portfolio. Your responsibilities will include project planning, target achievement, and overseeing all project aspects.


    You should be a seasoned National Account Manager preferably in the FMCG sector (particularly foods), demonstrating a remarkable record of sustaining and expanding a customer base. Strong commercial insight and a drive to surpass expectations are crucial. Solent Group is dedicated to accomplishing greatness collectively, and we invite you to be part of our journey.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Bring your passion and drive to grow existing clients while attracting new business

    • Collaborate with all departments to ensure customer strategy alignment
    • Create customer-specific sales plans/strategies
    • Independently implement a predefined sales strategy to meet account-specific targets
    • Understand customer KPIs, targets, and performance reviews, offering insights to meet category standards
    • Pioneer future prospects and seek growth opportunities within your client base
    • Utilize innovative solutions to deliver value, gross margin, and volume targets
    • Support colleagues in the sales team and manage project milestones effectively
    • Lead project planning and execution, ensuring visibility and feedback

    About You

    • Minimum 2 years' experience in managing national accounts, particularly with major grocers
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Essential experience in Retail/FMCG/Food, preferably with major grocers
    • Knowledge of various product categories, especially in Foods/Manufacturing and Private Label
    • Experience with international grocers
    • Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities and priority setting
    • Proficient in Critical Path Management and Resource Planning
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint
