    We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) to join our Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health team at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

    The Health Systems Collaborative (HSC) in the NDM Centre for Global Health Research — Oxford Global Health works to link scientists from Oxford with scientists from low and middle-income countries to do research that improves the health of people across the world. In this role, you will be required to work on two programmes/projects. The majority of the time (70% FTE) will be spent on work that contributes to a major new collaborative programme focused on Africa's First Referral Hospitals.

    To support this emerging set of work, you will work closely with Prof. Mike English and Dr. Jacquie Oliwa (based in Kenya) as well as other team members across the partnership. You will bring theoretical expertise in fields including how the introduction of technologies may result in the redesign of clinical pathways and changes to professional roles and organisations, how the adoption of technologies is achieved and consequently how technologies impact quality of care.

    You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of one work stream within a long-term, multidisciplinary and cross-country project, a role which may include report writing for funders as well as, collaborating with other team members to maximise the synergies from the AFRHiCARE Partnership's multiple work streams. You will act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on methodologies or procedures, offering theoretical and practical teaching/training including to MSc level trainees and as a PhD supervisor as appropriate. You will be tasked with develolping and leading or supervising policy, scoping, systematic or realist reviews and the writing of proposals for ethical approval. Finally, you will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

    It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in health systems, implementation science or social science or, organisational research applied to health. You will have relevant experience in socio-technical studies, social or organizational science or digital health implementation. You will have prior experience of gaining ethical approval for and conducting independent research with evidence of ability to produce and publish high quality research that draws on appropriate theory.
