    The Opportunity

    Built to Rent (BTR) is a major growth focus within David Phillips. This market has grown significantly over the last 5 years. BTR is now around 25% of our business with several Key client accounts. We are looking to hire a Junior Designer - BTR Space planning for handling large volume BTR projects, working alongside the Project Delivery and Product teams once furniture has been selected for the project.

    • The designer must have knowledge of AutoCAD, InDesign and Photoshop.
    • They must also be highly organized and have exceptional attention to detail – being focused on space planning small apartments at volume.
    • They should be a confident team player, with excellent communication skills for both internal and client related matters.
    • Producing styling proposals and procuring accessories in order to style BTR apartments to depict the aspirational lifestyle of the resident.
    • Attending site to style the apartments with creative flair.

    Responsibilities:

    • To attend site visits and create accurate space plans according to furnishing 'Type'.
    • Carry out space planning for volume BTR projects – often several at any one time.
    • Translate the furniture inventory into the Excel spreadsheet to capture quantities required.
    • Create aspirational show homes for the BTR apartments.
    • Create beautifully styled apartments that are current and have WOW factor.

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • Minimum 1-year Interior design / cad experience.
    • Excellent administration and organizational skills.
    • Good proficiency within AutoCAD, Excel and Indesign.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good presentation skills.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and interest in interior styling.

    Location

    Hybrid working with 2-3 days based on our offices in Holborn – Central London.
