    Exciting Opportunity: Stores / Yard Operative in Glasgow

    Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for an engaging role in depot operations? Join our team on Duke Street in Glasgow as a Stores / Yard Operative and play a crucial part in managing our valuable GCU Assets.

    What We Offer:

    Purposeful Role: As a Stores / Yard Operative you'll ensure the seamless management of GCU Assets in line with our work procedures, contributing to the overall organization, safety, and security of our depots.

    Variety of Tasks: From utilizing the computerised stock system for efficient goods management to managing the stock and equipment within the yard, you'll engage in diverse tasks that keep you challenged and motivated.

    Team Collaboration: You'll be a key point of contact between operational gangs, the service desk, and the yard, fostering collaboration and effective communication.

    Skill Development: We value your growth. If you're not already J2 Telehandler Trained, we're ready to invest in your training. Your development matters to us.

    Your Responsibilities:

    Prepare materials in advance for our Operational Gangs, contributing to operational efficiency.

    Uphold the cleanliness and organization of the Yard and support areas for a safe working environment.

    Maintain and update the Depot Plant movement sheet, ensuring accurate tracking of assets.

    Operate the computerised stock system for local Goods In/Goods Out processes, contributing to efficient inventory management.

    Conduct regular stock counts and anomaly checks to maintain inventory accuracy.

    Manage operational consumables and maintain a float to facilitate seamless operations.

    Take charge of the Service Desk/Goods In Area, providing essential support to our teams.

    Handle the movement and storage of materials and plant within the Yard area, ensuring organized spaces.

    Monitor waste and promote proper waste segregation practices.

    Lead the GCU Stock Management Process for Goods In/Goods Out, demonstrating your attention to detail.

    Your Qualifications:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including basic Excel, for accurate record keeping.

    Familiarity with computerized stock management systems for efficient tracking, ideally previous experience of the COINS system would be an advantage.

    Experience in a stores environment, ideally within construction or telecom sectors.

    High level of attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks.

    Valid Driving Licence (Cat B – minimum desirable).

    Previous experience in a Yard/Stores position for familiarity with the role's demands.
