    Senior KDB+ Developer
    London

    As a Barclays Senior KDB+ Developer, you will work within the QIS data team in which the predominant skill set is Python. The wider eco-system is also Python-based which you will also contribute to. In this role, you will work collaboratively with quant developers and other technology teams in order to drive efficiencies across the platforms.

    What will you be doing?

    • Leading the expansion phase of the QIS kdb+ system to incorporate new data sets and new vendors, expanding the capabilities of the system

    • Making technical decisions that require an excellent understanding of tick data sets and performance requirements of index products

    • Collaborating and communicating globally with traders, quants, and developers

    • Developing and maintaining high quality reusable code

    • Bringing new ideas and improvements to the system

    • Adhering to Barclays Policies and Standards and Financial Regulations appropriate to the role

    What we're looking for:

    • Proven experience with kdb+ and development of enterprise standard data systems

    • Practitioner of best practices in software development lifecycle, and operational risk management

    • Solid understanding of market data, particularly intraday tick data

    • Excellent stakeholder and teamworking skills

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • BSc or higher in a numerate, scientific or computational subject

    • Knowledge of Equity derivatives

    • Competent level of Python

    • Competent level of C++

    Where will you be working?
    In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
