    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Charge Nurse within our IPU Team at St Josephs Hospice. As a Band 6 Charge Nurse on the In-Patient Unit you will be: Responsible for leading a team of nurses and support workers Deliver a high standard of specialist palliative care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. Assessment of patient and family needs in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.

    Main duties of the job

    You must be a Registered Nurse with experience of delivering learning experiences, supervising, assessing students, and new staff. You will have proven leadership skills and be an experienced nurse at band 5 in a hospice and/or healthcare establishment.

    Our shift patterns are: Early: - 15:30

    Late: - 20:30

    Night: 20:00 - 08:00

    Long Shift: 07:30 -

    Job responsibilities

    As a Charge Nurse on one of our 14 bedded in-patient wards, you will be caring for those with advanced disease requiring Specialist Palliative, Respite and End of Life includes assessment of patient and family needs in conjunction with the interdisciplinary will have a true passion for nursing, putting the patient at the heart of everything you do. You will have proven leadership experience and be able to provide safe, effective, high quality care that is tailored to the needs of each individual.

    You must be a Registered Nurse with capability of delivering learning experiences, supervising, assessing students and new staff. St Josephs Hospice supports the professional and personal development of its staff. We will provide appropriate individualised training and supervision to support you in this role.

    Continuation of NHS Pension Scheme is available
