    Senior Nuclear Waste Assessor Salary: £74,564 Location: Flexible Grade: N1b Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time About Us We are looking for a Senior Nuclear Assessor to join our Nuclear Waste Assessment Team at the Environment Agency. Our mission is to regulate the disposal of radioactive waste in the nuclear industry in England. As part of our regulatory capability, our nuclear waste assessors provide specialized technical advice and support. Using your expertise in radioactive waste management, you will work closely with nuclear site regulators and collaborate with external bodies to assess proposals for the management and disposal of radioactive waste in different facilities. Representing the Environment Agency, your work will have a significant impact on radioactive waste management in the UK. What You Will Do: Join our Nuclear Regulation Group's Waste Assessment Team to provide technical advice and influence environmental performance. - Assess disposal facilities for radioactive waste. - Review waste management plans. - Contribute to waste management policy. - Assess waste management for new reactor designs. Essential Requirements: - Scientific Degree or equivalent experience. - Residency in the UK for the last 3 years. - Significant experience in treating radioactive waste. - Strong decision-making skills. - Prioritization skills. - Technical report writing abilities. - Customer-facing experience. - Communication skills.
