    Commissioning Officer

    Grade 4- £32,076 - £39,186 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

    Permanent

    Full-time, 36.5 hours per week. The role is largely remote/home-based however the post holder would be required to work from Birmingham City Council buildings as business needs dictate.

    About the role

    As a key member of the commissioning team, you will contribute to the delivery of strategic commissioning intentions and assist in the delivery of jointly commissioned services across Birmingham City Council and our partners including the NHS, Birmingham Children's Trust and the voluntary and community sector. You will be comfortable in collecting and analysing high volumes of data and information in order to inform commissioning activity, to complete statutory returns and support performance management. You will assist, support and coordinate relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and organisations that deliver services and otherwise work with the Council to deliver our priorities for children and families.

    Putting children, young people and families across Birmingham first at all times, you'll support us in managing and optimising resources, operate within financial priorities to deliver value for money for the Council and our strategic partners while ensuring the best possible service and outcomes for children, young people and families.

    About you

    You will have a good understanding of commissioning priorities that are outcome-focused and are based on City Council priorities, market intelligence and resource availability. You will be experienced in the development of service specifications with a range of stakeholders, including children, young people and families and have a good understanding of the requirement for commercial awareness that support development and implementation of commissioning plans and business cases.
