    The Critical Care Unit is a 10-bedded state of the art unit with the latest in monitoring and diagnostic equipment catering for a variety of level 2 and level 3 patients.

    We have vacancies for enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated Band 6 Staff Nurses to join our team. If you have a caring and compassionate approach to your work and patients, and want to join a motivated, friendly, and supportive team, we are keen to hear from you.

    Requirements for application include:

  • NMC registration
  • 6 months post critical care qualification experience within the last 18 months.
  • Desire to succeed in a busy, challenging, and exciting environment
  • Main duties of the job

    The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and their implementation and evaluation.

    The post holder is also expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision, and will be required to demonstrate procedures to, and supervise qualified and unqualified staff.

    The post holder will contribute to the overall good of the organisation by being a positive role model and to treat all staff, visitors and service users with courtesy.

    The post holder will undertake internal rotation to cover the service.

    It is expected that the post holder will be able to carry out all of the duties listed in the main duty section below. The duties will vary from ward to ward and they may carry out other similar duties in support of the ward environment that are not listed. No duties are to be undertaken by the post holder unless they have received the appropriate training.

    The band 6 senior staff nurse role comes with added responsibility of supporting ant teaching junior staff. Also you will be expected to support the senior team to ensure the safe and effective running of the critical care unit. Please refer to full job description available for further information.
