    Job summary –

    As Financial Accounting Manager you'll play a key part in ensuring the continuity of the business. You will have responsibility for ensuring that the finance department is fit for purpose. That everyday operational accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time and for the production of all financial reports.

    You will be expected to fully manage the department, having a hands on role assisting the team in its day-to-day activities and working alongside the departmental heads/senior managers.

    We are currently transitioning to Sage Intacct.

    Your role will focus on:

    • Ensuring the smooth running of the department.
    • Motivating and maintaining the morale of the team.
    • Proposing changes in processes, procedures and the skills needed to ensure that the department fully supports the ongoing changes to the business.
    • Supporting the team by managing, coaching, and having operational oversight over the staff conducting the everyday financial activities including AR, AP, supplier and customer relationships.
    • Financial reporting –to be responsible for the compilation and submission of financial reports to allow departmental managers, and senior team members, to understand and to measure the key business drivers.
    • Collating the departmental budgets and forecasts into standard monthly/annual financial reports including P&L, cashflow and balance sheet.
    • Controls & Compliance –Responsible for ensuring that the finance department operates within the Company procedures and policies. Responsible for overseeing the production of all legally required financial submissions and liaising, where necessary, with the external accountants.
    • Project Support – To be involved at the planning stage of commercial and technical projects to advise on the financial impacts. After implementation to monitor and report on key financial indicators
    • Manage the remuneration process including Payroll, Pensions and Benefits.

    About you:

    We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA). The candidate will have a broad knowledge of accounting processes gained working, in a management role, for 5+ years in the SME arena. Experience working with B2B software in a SaaS environment will be a distinct advantage.
