    Senior Project Accountant, Watford, Hertfordshire (Hybrid working)
    £70- £75kpa, £5k car allowance, Medical Cover, 18 months FTC


    Our client, a global leader and an employer of choice in the local area, are looking to add the expertise of a project focused senior accountant to the business.

    The main goal is to offer financial governance, support, and advice to ensure strong reporting and accuracy of financial information for the division. This role will assist in improving project performance delivered through an excellent service to the wider business.


    Key Responsibilities:
    -* Assist and support the team with the development and management of the finance team within the division.

    • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, offering valuable insights in line with accounting policies.
    • Manage the division's results against forecasts, presenting variance analysis for review by the leadership team.
    • Prepare, provide key support, and coordinate quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting activities. Produce a reporting pack for submission to the Managing Director.
    • Responsible for completing balance sheet reconciliations accurately and promptly, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
    • Ensure adherence to financial processes/controls and identify and implement process and system improvements where necessary.
    • Review and challenge project finances during forecast and review meetings, collaborating with project teams to enhance performance.
    • Apply commercial understanding to enhance project profitability.
    • Oversight and review of VAT returns.
    • Manage the interim and year-end audit process in collaboration with external auditors.
    • Provide year-end statutory and other information to the group finance department.
    The ideal candidate must be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and have proven experience matching the requirements above. Since this is a contract position, the successful candidate should be available at short notice or immediately.
