    Job Summary

    Hywel Dda University Health Board and Carmarthenshire Local Authority offer a great opportunity for two experienced Occupational Therapists to join the Adult community team.

    We are an innovative integrated team that aims to provide timely support as close to home as possible.

    We have a strong reputation for our innovation and leadership in transforming services to meet the evolving needs of the population.

    In this role, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, intervene, and rehabilitate individuals in their homes.

    As a postgraduate, you should have knowledge of rehabilitation interventions, manual handling, diverse conditions, and awareness of current community and hospital issues.

    Successful candidates must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and be proactive with strong initiative.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The post requires excellent organizational and communication skills to provide professional interventions and supervise junior staff.

    This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about community Occupational Therapy to make a difference in Carmarthenshire.

    Welsh language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory for this role.

    Qualifications and Knowledge

    Essential

    • Degree in Occupational Therapy
    • Current HCPC registration
    • Knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Understanding of rehabilitation interventions and clinical governance
    • Application of outcome measures

    Desirable

    • Knowledge of cross-services linkages
    • Experience with therapeutic equipment
    • Familiarity with Health Board priorities
    • Accredited Practice Educator
    • Accredited Assessor

    Experience

    Essential

    • Extensive experience as an occupational therapist
    • Managing varied caseloads
    • Working independently
    • Supervising staff
    • Coping with challenging situations
    • Service development contributions
    • Carer and family interactions
    • Continuous learning
    • Utilizing techniques for patient outcomes

    Desirable

    • Group work experience
    • Community setting exposure
    • Virtual communication proficiency
    • Relevant clinical experience
