- Review of drawings, contract documents, design information and other project documentation to estimate costs
- Sending out enquiries for Bills of Quantities
- Sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Use of estimating software to send out enquiries and analyse returns
- Dealing with queries from the BoQs
- Attending meetings and workshops with key supply chain subcontractors to input to tenders as required
- Providing input into decisions over whether to bid for the project
- Attending key gateway meetings such as a tender launch meetings, mid tender meetings and tender adjudication meetings
- Producing robust cost plans for projects to engage with clients on negotiated projects
- Working closely with key members of the project team (such as the pre-construction manager) and liaising with clients and suppliers
- Working closely with pre-construction to ensure tender costs fit within the Pre-construction overheads budget
- Experienced estimator with construction contractor experience
- HND or bachelor's degree in an industry-relevant subject
- Experienced in estimating software ConQuest/Causeway
- Commercial awareness
- Knowledge to include value engineering, first principles, production of quantities, design, pre-construction, project management with a strong emphasis on cost and risk management

Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for supporting the pre-construction team in the preparation of new build estimates to secure projects from a range of £0.5m to £10m and your duties will include, but not limited to, the following:
