    The role of the Regional CIO business is to support the Entity in achieving its strategic outcomes and to ensure that owned and consumed business services are resilient and compliant with local Regulations.

    The Programme Director role is responsible for leading and driving the execution of strategic programmes as part of the HBCE strategy which is a multi year global technology impacting programme.

    Please note this role will be a 18 month Fixed-Term Contract

    Job Requirements:

  • Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
  • Support Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, budget
  • Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
  • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees.
  • Make recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Oversee process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as: disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous DevOps pipelines development.
  • Drive adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, Security controls and technology architecture designs
  • Establish effective governance and controls, in line with Business Transformation Framework and coordination of cross technology teams, cross Global Business/Global Functions delivery.
  • Ownership and accountability for managing elements of the Technology strategy implementation actions across the global Technology organisation, constantly analysing the delivery model to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Create and lead a cohesive, global/regional stakeholder engagement strategy to support the function's vision, strategic objectives and people agenda, in line with HSBC's strategy, values and purpose.
  • Ensures close and effective working relationships with Regional and Global Businesses teams.Stakeholders largely split across multiple countries
    • Requirements

    Qualification and Skills:

  • Experience of managing significant transformation and global organisational change programmes in a large matrix organisation, with the ability to influence key stakeholders across GB/GFs, regions and upward stakeholder management with senior executives
  • Strong background in Technology, Agile and DevSecOps.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to influence, lead and drive teams to deliver. Demonstrate good judgement and a high level of communication skills to achieve effective stakeholder management. Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely, suitable for all levels across the HSBC group. Gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior executives
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to effectively transform and embed cultural change
  • Strong Commercial Orientation, ability in balancing risks vs. rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business
