    The Armys Basing and infrastructure Directorate brings (B&I) together all the key change programmes to ensure they are delivered to performance, cost and time. As a Directorate, we are committed to Project, Programme & Portfolio management (P3M) and delivery. In addition DB&I plans and leads the built environment for the British Army to live, work and train. This is a key foundation for the UKs militarys capability. Every new project brings outstanding possibilities and challenges, and well ensure youre equipped to succeed, with extensive training and development opportunities.

    The Directorate consists of Civil Servants, military colleagues and contractors working closely to deliver the Armys Modernisation Agenda.

    This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

    Job description

    We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Delivery Individual to join us and lead the delivery of several Strategic Programmes in the Army's Portfolio.

    These Programmes deliver change in, infrastructure, and business change. Developing Programme and Project Management skills, knowledge and expertise in a challenging yet encouraging environment.

    As Requirements Managers (RM) the successful candidates will be responsible for managing the Armys Infrastructure Requirements from Concept, through Delivery, to Completion via the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) supply chain.

    Working with the Military User and DIO project staff, you will be at the heart of the Requirement setting, supportive document production and the delivery of benefits of the Infrastructure Change Programmes on handover to the military user.

    Director Programmes manages Project Delivery staff on a flexible basis to ensure programmes have the talent required to deliver outputs and maximise opportunities in support of skills development and wider career pathways. In common with all Programmes Directorate staff, the post holder may be redeployed flexibly within the portfolio as priorities change and programmes begin and end.

    Main responsibilities include:
    1. Acting as the lead throughout the whole life cycle, ensuring the requirement is captured and providing feedback on design development.
    2. Coordinating & developing Business Cases and other supporting documentation.
    3. Engagement with various partners, positively challenging the Performance, Time, Cost and Risks to ensure project outputs are delivered.
    4. Ensuring that project timelines are coherent, realistic and that key goals and dependencies are actively managed.
    5. Leading and supporting production and delivery of presentations. Identifying and managing project risks.
    Supporting the Integrated Project Team to ensure financial mechanisms and approaches are created and agreed at the offset.

    Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office, based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
