    Job Title: Building Safety Manager Location: Bristol (hybrid working) Hours: 37 per week (Monday-Friday) Contract: Temporary Contract (on-going) Day Rate: £277.11 PAYE basic, £312.14 PAYE including holiday, £350 Umbrella BRC are working with a local authority who are looking to recruit a Building Safety Manager to join their Housing and Landlord Services team on a temporary contract basis. The building Safety Manager's role is to ensure the safety of the building, primarily for the safety of all occupants of multi-occupied High-Rise Residential Buildings and designated building types (including Low-Rise Residential Buildings). The post holder will be required to be a registered named Building Safety Manager. The post holder will be responsible for development, management, distribution of information in relation to the design, construction and maintenance of high-rise residential buildings. Key Responsibilities:
    • To take responsibility for the co-ordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety for in-scope buildings to meet legislative requirements
    • To oversee the safe management of BCC high-rise (and/or higher-risk) residential buildings within Housing and Landlord Services' building stock
    • To oversee the implementation of controls in respect of structural and fire safety on a day-to-day basis
    • To effectively manage safety within the designated housing stock
    • To ensure that controls are implemented in respect of building work carried out in the managed housing stock
    • To manage resident engagement within high-rise and/or higher-risk housing stock, particularly in ensuring that safety concerns are recorded, monitored and dealt with appropriately
    • To ensure that planned, preventive maintenance is carried out within BCC housing stock
    • To engage with relevant internal housing staff to ensure that roles are performed effectively in accordance with the Corporate Fire Safety Policy.
    • To oversee the successful implementation of corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments and audits.
    • To ensure that facilities for use by the fire and rescue service are effectively managed and maintained
    Role Specifications:
    • So far as is reasonably practicable , the post holder must ensure that safe working practices are adopted by employees and in premises/work areas for which the post holder is responsible to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in the Corporate Health, Safety and Welfare Policy, departmental policies and codes of practice.
    • Work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, Regulations and policies of the City Council.
    • To model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service.
    • Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / standards.
    • Ensure that all mandatory training is undertaken as required. For example – Bristol City Council's Induction, Health and Safety, Equalities, Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults. Please note - this is not a comprehensive list.
