    ROLE SUMMARY:

    St. Anthony's School for Boys are looking to recruit an outstanding RE Teacher who has a passion for both teaching and learning, as well as their own professional development. We have very high standards of ourselves and our pupils, and believe that stretch and challenge are essential ingredients to real academic success.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Planning, Teaching and Class Management:

  • Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time.
  • Plan lessons and sequences of lessons to meet pupils' individual learning needs and plan effectively to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential, taking account of the needs of pupils who are: underachieving; very able.
  • Secure a high standard of pupil behaviour in the classroom, through establishing appropriate rules and high expectations of discipline which pupils respect and use a range of appropriate strategies for teaching and classroom management.
  • Identify pupils who have special educational needs, and know where to get help in order to give positive and targeted support. Plan effectively, where applicable, to meet the needs of those pupils with special educational needs and prepare, implement, monitor and review individual education plans.
  • Work alongside the Head of Faculty to design and adapt long, medium and short term plans for all schemes of work

  • High expectations for all children, as well as excellent organisational skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible and take on additional duties as and when required.
