Description

Youth Engagement Support Worker with a level 2 qualification in Youth Work, Education, Health or Social Care, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude is required to join a Young People's Services Team based in Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands.

There are 2 positions available, 1 x Fixed Term and 1 x Permanent.

The fixed term contract would be in ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience before going into teaching, sports coaching or a pastoral role.


SALARY:
£22,196 - £24,416 pro rata (permanent) / £ £12.66 per hour (fixed term contract) + Benefits


LOCATION:
Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands


JOB TYPE:
Part-Time, Permanent or Part-Time Fixed Term Contract (2 jobs available)


WORKING HOURS: 18.5 hours per week - flexible and agile working (includes some evening and weekend working)

A full UK driving license is required to travel around the county


JOB OVERVIEW


We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Youth Engagement Support Worker with a level 2 qualification in Youth Work, Education, Health or Social Care, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.


Working as a Youth Engagement Support Worker you will be supporting young people aged between 11 and 19 years on both a one to one and group-work basis.

The role involves working with groups of young people in a variety of settings to deliver the youth work offer, as well as offering one to one mentoring support for individual young people.


As the Youth Engagement Support Worker you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with both young people and adults and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Evening and weekend work is required.


DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as Youth Engagement Support Worker will include:
Undertake the direct delivery of quality youth work including clubs, participation projects, workshops and one to one intervention

Build appropriate relationships with young people to enable them to meet their potential

Ensure the voice of young people is central to the service design and delivery

Work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to deliver a comprehensive package of youth support


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
You will have a Level 2 qualification in Youth Work, Education, Health or Social Care and a willingness to complete training for level 3

Experienced in developing voluntary trusting relationships with Young People and challenging behaviour

Experienced in group work and one to one delivery

Experienced in tracking, recording and measuring impact

Good knowledge of informal education and learning opportunities

Able to work independently and as part of a supportive team of professionals

You will have a good understanding of contextual safeguarding

Hold a full UK Driving Licence
