    Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist Location:

    Leicester Royal Infirmary/Leicester General Hospital/ Glenfield Hospital Permanent - 37.As a department we are looking at ways to offer further career development opportunities for our physiotherapy staff by developing a cross departmental rotation scheme at Band 6.

    This is a developing post and will currently offer 9 month rotations into the core areas of MSK outpatients, Respiratory service and Acute medicine .

    To help you to develop all the skills you need to progress your career we will be offering a lot of support and training in both clinical skills, education of others and leadership and will provide opportunities to participate in audit, research and service development.

    We are a forward thinking department that really values its staff and develops services in response to feedback from our teams.

    You will be supported through a mix of Appraisals, 1:1's , clinical supervision, preceptorship, rostered CPD time every month, regular In-service training and access to external training.

    In order to fill this role we are looking for someone who has gained a range of experience as a Band 5, preferably in an acute trust, and is keen to progress.

    We want someone who is willing to take opportunities to develop yourself and others, play a big part in the Therapy department and the MDT and take on responsibility.

    You must share the same values as the UHL trust and the therapy department and be prepared to participate in the achievement of our ambitious goals.

    We are passionate about promoting independence and preventing deconditioning in the acute hospital.


    The successful candidate would need to be flexible in their working as the service is provided over 7 days a week.

    The team are working to provide a collaborative approach to therapy across all systems.

    About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust:
    To be part of the Physiotherapy team serving, amongst others, acute medicine specialty, respiratory specialty and Musculoskeletal service

    To carry a clinical caseload: working to national and local guidelines and Service priorities with those who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties.

    To increase and consolidate existing physiotherapy clinical knowledge and skills in assessment and treatment.
    Participate in the on call roster and weekend therapy service.
    Promote physiotherapy and the work of the department.

    (BSc/MSc Physiotherapy or equivilent

    Post grad training

    Able to demonstrate evidence of building relationships with others (staff and Patients, carers)

    Evidence of Band 5 (or equivalent) experience
    Evidence of NHS acute hospital experience
