    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Physiotherapist to join our large innovative community-based team working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, as part of our City team. This role is for a 12 month secondment.

    The Children's Physiotherapy Service seeks to provide a high-quality service to children and their families in their home, nurseries, schools and in clinic settings.

    The service has well established pathways within Early Years, Complex Disability and Physical Disability, and specialist interests in eating and drinking difficulties, palliative care, neuromuscular conditions, hemiplegia, postural care, spasticity management and orthotics. Support is provided through band 7 pathway leads and a band 8 Clinical Lead.

    You will demonstrate flexibility and initiative, to manage your workload effectively and will be required to manage a designated caseload alongside an understanding of working in a community setting, the complexities of working within a family and a multidisciplinary multiagency environment, be familiar with children's equipment and its use, and be skilled in the delivery of a number of assessments and interventions used by physiotherapists in community children's services.

    Main duties of the job

    To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Physiotherapy clinical and professional skills within Community Paediatrics to deliver high standards of practice.

    To provide specialist Paediatric Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients within a multidisciplinary format in clinical care pathways.

    To take a lead in developing the Service. This involves promoting high quality clinical practice and ensuring professional standards are maintained in the workplace.

    To deliver a specialist Physiotherapy Service to paediatric patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing.

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
