    Description

    We are excited to offer a position as a Deputy Manager to provide top-quality care to children and young individuals in a home environment in Liverpool. This is a full-time, permanent role with 37.5 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £(phone number removed) annually, along with a sleep in allowance totaling £5400.

    New Start is a not-for-profit organization focused on delivering residential and supported accommodation services to vulnerable individuals and families.

    We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in overseeing all care services, strategic planning, and day-to-day management of the home.

    Key responsibilities as a Deputy Manager include:

    • Demonstrating leadership in childcare, organizing and supporting staff to ensure the best care for each child and young person.
    • Implementing relevant regulations and guidelines ensuring the well-being of children.
    • Coordinating necessary services to meet the needs of each child and young person.
    • Providing coaching in childcare practices for optimal outcomes.
    • Mentoring and supporting Residential Childcare Workers.
    • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Overseeing administrative systems, recording, and maintenance work.
    • Being available on-call as needed.
    • Supervising staff and assisting in their development.
    • Developing and implementing staff training programs.
    • Working on a rotational basis.

    Requirements for the ideal Deputy Manager:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential childcare.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior position in this field.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
    • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce/Residential Childcare.
    • Valid driver's license with business class insurance.
    • Proficiency in IT skills.
    • Desirable - NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
    • Desirable - Experience in EBD homes.
