    Are you an experienced cancer nurse, fully trained in SACT administration and passionate about providing strong leadership?

    An exciting, fixed term/secondment opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the caring and supportive team on Ward 5A.

    You will be part of an established and dynamic team of nurses who are passionate about giving the best care possible to people with a diagnosis of cancer in the Highlands of Scotland. Cancer nursing is a rewarding speciality and Ward 5A at Raigmore Hospital is the dedicated inpatient area for delivering cancer treatment and managing acute oncology/haematology symptoms. Palliative care is also regularly provided.

    This is an ideal opportunity to progress your career into leadership and management and to enhance the necessary skills that are essential as a senior staff nurse. You will be fully trained in administering SACT and have a keen interest in developing the more junior staff on Ward 5A in all aspects of cancer care.

    NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
