    To ensure we continue to create ground-breaking performances moving forward, we are looking to identify a key person to join our high-performance team to help drive forward with us on our mission.

    Working as part of the GB Cycling Team, the Olympic Development Squad Coach, MTB-XC is responsible for inspiring the evolution of the mountain bike discipline through talent ID and transfer initiatives, high-performance coaching services to Olympic Development level athletes, and levelling up of domestic competition standards.

    You will help identify and develop a pool of riders which forms the Olympic Development Sprint Squad and coach them through individualised and specialist approaches to the standard required for the next level of the GBCT pathway (Podium Potential).

    In addition, you will lead, run and implement strategic talent identification and transfer initiatives which identify future GBCT pathway riders and develop domestic competition that collectively elevates the talent pool of MTB riders eligible for GBCT.

    Create a set of development objectives for all athletes which focus on the components required to deliver future international success.

    Produce and implement individualised and progressive training plans to develop the requisite on and off bike skills.

    Plan and deliver a series of national and international training camps and race opportunities that are aligned to GBCT's rider development curriculum.

    Prepare and present reports as required by the Performance Pathway Manager, Podium Programme coaches and/or Senior Management.

    In conjunction with the Performance Pathway Manager, liaise with relevant performance support staff to coordinate the delivery of targeted support services to athletes on the Pathway.

    In consultation with the Performance Pathway Manager and MTB coaching team, recommend a number of riders for membership on the ODS and selection for World and/or European Championships.

    Gather and analyse various field and performance data relating to the identification and development of riders.

    Work closely with the Performance Pathway Manager to undertake & lead MTB focused talent identification and talent transfer fast track initiatives and activity.

    Communicate with regional talent and home country coaches and performance programmes on the progress of athletes including clear age and progression profiles towards the expected standard.


    Competition Development:
    Work with BC talent team (including other Sport England talent pathways) in developing domestic competition standards which leads the increase in the talent pool eligible for GBCT ODS
    Support development of the MTB-XC coaching ecosystem through delivery of coaching clinics so as to ensure MTB coaching and rider development evolves as a best-in-class discipline

    Work as part of a team of coaches to challenge, develop and enhance the evolution of British Cycling's Performance Pathway and deliver the wider programme objectives.
