    Band 8a Family Therapist- CAMHS - Leicester, United Kingdom - NHS

    Description

    As a result of ongoingrecruitment within CAMHS at LPT, we are looking to appoint a Family andSystemic Psychotherapist to principally work at CAMHS The Beacon Inpatient Unitand also to support the CAMHS Crisis Team at times when the number of young peopleoccupying inpatient beds is below capacity.

    Ideally, you will be anexperienced and qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with current UKCPregistration and have experience of clinical leadership and working withcomplex mental health needs in both inpatient and community services.

    The team currently consists ofclinicians from a wide range of disciplines: Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics,Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

    Staff work closely with CAMHSSpecialist Teams, Inpatient and Adult services while also having connectionswith the wider MDT within the community. We offer early specialist assessmentand intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people up to the ageof 18 years old and their families.

    Main duties of the job

    Some of the duties you will undertake within this role include:

    • To undertake detailed & highly specialist psychological and systemic assessments of children and families. This will involve face to face contact with young people and families.
    • To be responsible for implementing a range of systemic interventions for individuals and their families.
    • To create and deliver, participate in, and sustain highly developed therapeutic interventions,
    • The delivery of an agreed package of care, to young people and families.
    • The provision of highly specialist one-to-one clinical consultations to other clinical staff, contributing directly to the formulation, diagnosis and intervention plans.
    • Contribute to the requirements of CPD provision and support the learning of multi-disciplinary staff team at all levels of expertise.
    • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conference and reviews.
    • To participate, when appropriate, in an area of a special clinical interest, clinical group or clinical problem.
    • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual young people and to provide advice to other professionals on the systemic aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
    • To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of young people and their families

    Person Specification Qualifications

    • Qualification in relevant mental health / social welfare profession and
    • demonstrable practice over a minimum of 3 years within that profession
    • Masters level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, accredited with UKCP
    • UKCP registration which is maintained through meeting relevant AFT CPD requirements.
    • Continued registration with relevant organisation in relation to primary professional qualification
    • Systemic Supervisory Training
    • Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of therapeutic practice

    Experience

    • Minimum three years practice in relevant first profession
    • Assessed experience of working as a qualified systemic family psychotherapist for a minimum of 2 years or substantial previous relevant clinical experience or newly qualified systemic psychotherapist with both substantial and significant previous relevant clinical experience and family therapy experience within the designated speciality where the post is located
    • Experience of specialist systemic assessment, formulation and intervention with clients
    • Experience of working with a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
    • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Experience of working with a range of childhood and adult disorders at the acute and chronic stage.
    • Experience of risk assessment and risk management
    • Experience of self-harm assessment and intervention with both individuals and their families
    • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for systemic care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
    • Experience of teaching, training &/or supervision.
    • Experience of the application of systemic psychotherapy in different cultural contexts.
