William Perkin CofE High School is seeking to appoint an RE teacher to join the outstanding RE department, combining this role with the ITT Secondary RE Lead responsibility.
We are looking for an experienced and highly successful RE teacher who is passionate about teaching RE and also about working with trainee teachers and supporting teacher recruitment and retention. The successful person will become an important part of the Trust Curriculum team by playing a key role in training the next generation of high-quality West London (and Trust School) Early Career Teachers.
The post-holder will be joining an innovative, ambitious and energetic RE department that seeks to deliver an outstanding curriculum to students of all National Curriculum levels. We work collaboratively to create a curriculum that inspires, challenges and nurtures students, using aspirational and ambitious outcomes, which leads to thorough subject knowledge and sustained progress.
The main purposes of this teaching role are to achieve outstanding examination results for all classes taught, to lead an outstanding tutor group within a pastoral year team and to promote the school's ethos and vision through, for example, active engagement with the school's house system.
As regards the additional ITT role, the main responsibility will be to support with the design and delivery of Teach West London's Initial Teacher Training curriculum through subject specific studies.
The role is targeted at individuals with a successful track record of supporting teachers early in their career (ITTs and / or ECTs) and of leading teachers in a curriculum area. Individuals must have expert knowledge of subject curriculum and pedagogy.
Whilst the teaching role will be based at William Perkin C of E High School, the ITT role involves delivering a weekly 2-hour Friday subject studies session at Ada Lovelace C of E High School, another school in the Twyford Church of England Academy Trust. The successful candidate will be given half a day off-timetable each week for the role.
You will join an ambitious and enthusiastic team that seeks to deliver outstanding Initial Teacher training and will be well supported by an experienced Initial Teacher Training Leadership Team.
Teach West London is the Teaching School Hub for the four London boroughs of Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, and Hounslow. Teach West London is a newly accredited Initial Teacher Training Provider, currently recruiting trainees to start delivery in September 2024. Our ambitious target for 2024/25 is to train 120 trainees (primary and secondary) in partnership with schools across West London. Over the next four years we aim to increase the number of teachers we successfully train each year up to 300. Teach West London is based at Ada Lovelace C of E High School.
