You will provide a consistent high quality service in all areas allocated to you within the care home environment to ensure that the environment meets the requirements of the service specification and expectations of clients and staff alike.

Key tasks for which you will be responsible include; carrying out tasks relating to catering, cleaning and laundry services; ensuring that the young people's dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times; working within all areas of the care home environment of Children's Services as instructed by the Assistant Facilities Housekeeper or other appropriate manager and ensuring that all areas used by the young people and care staff are maintained to the required standard on a consistent and timely basis. You will also be required to provide support and assistant to young people participating in housekeeping tasks.

It is essential that you have experience of working within the catering, cleaning and laundry service and have a high awareness of current hygiene practices. You must have organisational; communication and interpersonal skills, have a flexible approach with the ability to work as part of a team and relate to children/young people.

An SVQ (or equivalent) in Catering, SVQ (or equivalent) in Cleaning or Elementary Food Hygiene certificate are desirable.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
