- Behaviour Management: Implementing and monitoring behaviour management strategies to support students with varying degrees of behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
- One-on-One Support: Offering targeted support to students with behavioural challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Building positive relationships based on trust and understanding, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and emotional support to help students manage their behaviour effectively and engage in their learning.
- Group Interventions: Facilitating group sessions or workshops focusing on social skills development, anger management, and conflict resolution. These sessions will aim to equip students with the necessary skills and strategies to improve their behaviour and interpersonal relationships.
- Collaboration: Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement holistic support strategies for students with behavioural needs. Attending team meetings, contributing ideas, and sharing best practices to ensure the consistent and effective support of students across the school.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitoring and evaluating the progress of students receiving behavioural support, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure their continued development. Maintaining accurate records of interventions, progress, and any incidents, providing regular updates to relevant staff members and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Previous experience working with young people with behavioural difficulties, either in an educational, youth work, or similar setting, is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to behaviour management, with the ability to adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and a commitment to promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
