The Essentials:

• Hold an ATCO License (UK CAA / EU 2015/340).
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

• Minimum ICAO Aviation English Language Proficiency Level 5 or above.
• At least 2 years of operational experience in the ratings held.

Job Application - Senior Automation Engineer Published Date: , Validation, Bournemouth

We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team Based in our Bournemouth offices at least 3 days per week, this role requires an individual with an eye for detail and the experience and confidence to grow a team.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to our Head of Quality Assurance and Systems this role will grow and evolve Micro Nav's automated
testing and continuous integration capability. Using tools such as Test Complete, Jenkins, Python, and anything
else you identify as essential to our agile development process.
This exciting and strategic role will drive the engineering team in further harnessing automation, with a view to
this person recruiting two team members to grow this department in the business

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and analyse system specifications, Defects and User Stories.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results.
• Ensure that all automated testing related activities are carried out as per the standards defined by the company.
• Create tickets to document failures.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
• Help troubleshoot issues.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Technical Requirements

• Experience of test automation tools to include Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or similar.
• Basic SQL querying for verifying data.
• API/Rest testing experience.
• Familiarity with current/modern testing techniques such as BDD.
• Experience using Xray plugin for Jira.

Education and Experience

• 5+ years proven experience as a Software Tester (ISO9001 or equivalent environment) covering a variety of applications (desktop, mobile, web) including customer acceptance activities.
• 3+ years writing automated end-to-end tests.
• ITSQB software testing qualification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of UX/UI testing.
• Experience of working in an Agile environment.
• Experience with ticketing and workflow systems ideally JIRA.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities maintaining focus on project deadlines.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile and waterfall.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiastic and proactive with a mindset to modernise.
• Ability to travel in the UK and internationally to meet end-users and customers.
• Knowledge or interest in Air Traffic Control or Aviation, experience of software testing in these domains.
