About the team:

Are you looking to use your transactional Credit skills in a growing and evolving environment, where you can use your leadership ability to really add value?


The Credit Quality Assurance team, sits within the Second Line of Defence Risk Family and supports Credit Risk oversight across all of the OSB Groups diverse lending product offerings.

As Credit Quality Assurance Manager you will line manage and coach ateam of 4 and there will also be occasional travel to other offices.

In this role, you will be supporting the Group Head of Credit Assurance in the delivery of a growing program of review activities across the Credit Lifecycle, for Mortgages, Commercial and Asset Finance.


This position has both direct and indirect management responsibilities and helping to evolve the function and the team will be central to what you do.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Delivering functional growth to provide enhanced oversight and challenge, though cross area engagement and the development of the team via operational training, direct management and indirect coaching.
  • Playing a key role in the formulation, agreement and delivery of the functions risk based review program to maximise the, breadth, depth and reach of its activities.
  • Providing insightful assessments of counterparties and transactions both as part of the normal review program alongside bespoke adhoc activities.
  • As Review Leader, adding value to reviews through the oversight of the Teams activities to ensure accuracy and critically to understand and escalate the cause and impact of emerging issues.
  • Discussing and agreeing issues and actions with the Bank's Senior Business Leaders, with the ability to expand on the materiality and risk impact of emerging themes to drive incremental change.
  • The writing of contextualised high impact reports for distribution to the Bank's Executive, alongside, where necessary, presenting consolidated findings in a precise summary form through appropriate governance.

In return for your commitment:

We offer a base salary dependent on experience between £55,000 and £65,000 and a competitive benefits package


Could you be the one?
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Extensive experience in a Credit, either from an Underwriting or Assurance / Audit Function, with an expert knowledge of Credit Risk at a counterparty/transaction level.
  • Excellent understanding of Banking Frameworks, Operations and Controls and how these are used to manage credit risk.
  • Demonstrable experience in understanding the detail in complex environments and the ability to quickly identify and draw out weaknesses and emerging trends.
  • Experience in leading discussions with senior stakeholders, cross functionally and making appropriate tangible conclusions and recommendations to reduce risk.
