    The Department of General Medicine is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for the post of Consultant in General Medicine.

    They're looking for physicians passionate about holistic general medicine, teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, and contributing to quality improvement in a growing general medicine department.

    Here, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients in General Medicine.

    The hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre.

    As the major clinical teaching and research centre, it collaborates with the University and other institutions, providing excellent inpatient and ambulatory care for 250,000-strong population.

    General medicine is the largest inpatient department in the hospital with excellent sub-specialty support and opportunities for clinicians to be involved in research, clinical redesign, and quality improvement.

    Contribute to the department's after hours and weekend roster.
    Provide leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff.
    Get involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
    Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.
    Actively support and participate in service development.
    FRACP in General and Acute Medicine OR SIMG assessed as substantially comparable by RACP.
    Experience in general medicine inpatient and outpatient settings.
    Willingness to initiate and participate in clinical governance projects.
