    The Associate Director of Professionals Allied to Medicine (DPams) is a new role within Group Clinical Support Services (GCSS) Senior Management Team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals Birmingham, leading by example, and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our teams and deliver our services, which in turn will provide every patient with the highest quality, equitable care possible.

    Professionally accountable to the to the Chief Nursing Officer and/or Chief Medical Officer the

    Associate Director of Professionals Allied to Medicine will ensure digital technologies underpin the way services are delivered at present and in the future and to drive all aspects of innovation and service improvement, across all settings.

    The delivery of a modernise service delivery will ensure patient pathways and support productivity and efficiencies under a quality assured framework.

    Building and developing a sustainable workforce that is fit for the future will ensure our people and our patients of safe, effective, well-led, responsive and caring services.

    Supporting / influencing the culture of care where patient, carer and family involvement are integral to the service design, delivery and improvement and ensure outcome measured improvements for both patients and staff are aligned to the Trust behaviours and values.

    University Hospitals Birmingham is a Smoke-Free premises hospital.
    Master's in management or equivalent demonstrable experience supplemented by specialist training, experience or short courses to doctorate level or equivalent (E)
    *Evidence of recent post registration continuous professional development/qualification (E)
    *Evidence of accredited management / leadership training or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level (E)
    *Experience in Pharmacy, Radiography and Bio-Medical Science, Clinical Scientist/Technologist (D)
    Experience of operating in Senior Operational Management position/s in an acute setting.
    *Extensive experience post registration to include Senior posts at Band 8a and 8b or equivalent in an acute NHS provider or equivalent complex health care provider manging a number of services/departments as part of an MDT (E)
    *Experience in leading and implementing safety/quality Application form and experience initiatives and sustainable service Improvement (E)
    *Experience in writing reports/presenting information Internally/externally in a timely manner to a range of Senior Manager's including Directors/Executive Directors (E)
    *Experience resource manager with experience in staff/performance & management and financial control mechanisms (E)
    *Evidence and experience in delivering operational and strategic performance including strategic safe staffing and skill mix reviews, infection control, risk management , complaints and adverse incidents across range of services (E)
    *Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team working with local and external teams, acting as an ambassador of a speciality (E)
    *Proven experience of quality and risk management including experience in analysing and resolving complex complaints/ incidents, human resource and professional issues (E)
    *Ability to lead and or support the management of change within a complex operational environment building engagement and involvement to ensure sustainability (E)
    *Demonstrable appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations demonstrates breadth and depth of understanding of current NHS policy and ability to interpret and implement in practice (E)
    *Clear understanding of the concept and working arrangements of diverse clinical areas, health and social care partners and local councils, including those within Primary, Secondary and Tertiary care, or charitable/voluntary services & community leaders (E)
    *Can demonstrate a high level working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, the concept of Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement and evidence-based practice associate with the portfolio (E)
    *Able to think strategically and translate vision for local service into delivery by collaboration and partnership (E)
    *Track record of success in the management of significant changes and innovation with demonstrable results (E )
    *Demonstrate experience of the NHS strategic agenda together with an understanding of the current issues in Modernising Scientific careers and practice and how this impacts on the CDG (E)
    *Understanding of the regulatory and statutory frameworks associated with NHS operating environment (E) in particularly UKAS, HSE, MHRA, IRMER etc
    *Understanding of the business planning process (E)
    *Experience in contract management/negotiation associate with the speciality / profession (D)
    Possess confident leadership, management and communication & presentation skills (E)
    ~*Possess resilience and determination is flexible and adaptable can work at pace and under non-negotiable timescales when needed (E)
    ~*Possess excellent time-management skills and ability to work on own initiative and where required as part of a senior team (E)
    ~*Evidence of transformational change management (E)
