    Senior Hardware Engineer Location:

    CambridgeSalary: Circa £70k to £80k Our client is an innovative technology company based in Cambridge that actively contributes to industrial product development.

    Their tight-knit team is expanding and seeking skilled professionals to enhance their hardware and software capabilities.

    Role SummaryThey seek an enthusiastic Senior Hardware Engineer who is proficient in PCB design and FPGA development for embedded systems.

    Their projects encompass both research and development initiatives aligned with their parent company's objectives. Their team focuses on creating systems tailored for power electronics applications.

    Collaboration with their colleagues in Germany is integral, necessitating occasional travel to Regensburg, Bavaria—a delightful locale conveniently located near Nuremberg and Munich.

    Their embedded systems span from small microcontroller-based applications to complex embedded Linux systems. The ideal candidate will possess PCB schematic capture and layout expertise, with an advantageous background in power electronics.

    About YouHold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or related fieldEnjoy digital and analog circuit designValue functional testing and verification of circuit performanceUnderstand design considerations for manufacturabilityCapable of articulating and documenting design ideas within an experienced engineering teamPossess innovative ideas coupled with pragmatic executionWillingness to assist in recruitment and mentorship of junior team membersEffective self-organisation and time management skillsEssential SkillsMinimum five years of experience in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium or similar toolsProficiency in PLD/FPGA design with Verilog and/or VHDLHands-on experience with bench-level testing and lab equipmentProficient in programming embedded microcontrollersDesirable SkillsBackground in power electronics, such as DC-DC converters or motor drivesSoftware development experience in C/C++ or Python for embedded systemsFamiliarity with EMC and environmental testing conducted by external test housesKnowledge of communication interfaces like Ethernet/EtherCAT or MODBUS/TCPBenefitsWe encourage you to apply if you possess these qualifications and are eager to contribute.
