- GI procedures including: OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/Breath Tests.
- As part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) we undertake FOBt lists.
- Diagnostic bronchoscopies
- Is responsible for the provision of Excellent care with compassion
- Is responsible for ensuring that the nursing team and care support team are adequately resourced and organised in order to deliver excellent care with compassion
- Is responsible for ensure the nursing team and care support team are adequately supported and developed to deliver excellent care with compassion
- Is responsible for leading and developing the Endoscopy nursing team and support teams by being a visible and strong role model providing leadership and direction to the team, capitalising on research and development opportunities, providing clinical supervision and advice for staff and students in order to support them in reaching their full potential
- Appropriate NMC registration
- Mentorship qualification
- Post registration qualifications relevant to the role
- Successful completion of a leadership and development programme equivalent to the Internal Band 6 Leadership and development programme.
- Level 4 ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) or equivalent
- Able to perform clinical duties commensurate to that of the role e.g. endoscopy procedures, IV medications, cannulation
- Evidence of clinical competence in area of speciality ie. endoscopy
- Knowledge of clinical governance and safeguarding and the relevance of these to practice
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
- Experience of and detailed understanding of decontamination standards
- Experience of leading the preparation for JAG accreditation
- Ability to implement changes within nursing practice
- Knowledge of ethical issues
- Experience of budgetary management
- Experience of managing a clinical area
- Knowledge of the PDPR process
- Evidence of working at Band 7

You will need to be an experienced nurse with leadership skills and experience, as you will be expected to manage the Endoscopy unit effectively and provide clinical leadership to the nursing team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for leading and developing the nursing team. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and also provide a visible role model within the unit.
Experience of endoscopy would be beneficial in this role but is not essential.
A key feature of the role is ensuring that the unit provides the highest standards of patient care and achieves national targets to meet service need and ensure continuing JAG accreditation.
The endoscopy nursing team at Preston is a fantastic team who are hardworking, caring and would welcome you as the Endoscopy manager.

We are a JAG accredited unit with 2 endoscopy rooms.
