    What does 'emotional health and wellbeing' mean to you? What do you think it could mean for youngpeople?

    Over the last decade there has been a significant decline in the mental health and wellbeing of children and youngpeople, with CAMHS recording an increase in referrals; in the first quarter of 2023, 10,500 children and youngpeople were referred in Scotland. With a significant need to widen awareness of mental health and wellbeingwithin schools to support young people, SCCR's Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead plays a vital role within theteam. You will be taking our work to young people, playing a role in reducing conflict situations that leadrelationships to breakdown and mental health to suffer.

    About the service

    Cyrenians' Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution is a National Resource Centre for best practice in conflictresolution, mediation and early intervention work with a particular focus on young people and families. Ouraward-winning digital resources, free training and events improve understanding of conflict and emotional needs,to transform relationships and lives.

    About the role

    This role will ensure that the SCCR continues to evolve and extend its reach. You will:

    • Engage with young people to review and develop our services, ensuring their voices are heard
    • Deliverworkshops and presentations, and contribute to our range of digital resources
    • Maintain and developworking relationships with schools and other youth organisations
    • Monitor and report on the progress ofour work

    About you

    We are seeking a committed and self-motivated individual with experience in conflict resolution, research, psychologyand creative practices. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under your own initiative, whilealso working in a team environment.

    • Able to demonstrate our values of compassion, respect, integrity, and innovation in the workthat you do.

    About the role

    You will work as part of a team to support people experiencing homelessness and working towards recovery fromgambling harm. You will also work with people affected by someone else's gambling issues.

    Partnership working will be central to this role. You will work alongside Cyrenians colleagues, 3rd sector, statutorypartners and service users to shape the delivery this project.

    You will be an outgoing individual with excellent organisational skills with a creative and innovative approach. Youwill be committed to promoting inclusion, and will have experience of working with people with a broad range oflife experiences. You will have experience working 1:1 with people, and ideally in delivering group work.

    The City Community is based in North Edinburgh, we offer accommodation and support to young people aged 16 to 30. Thepurpose of the community is to provide a safe and supported living environment for the young people to live,learn and develop together while they find out more about themselves and what their aspirations are for thefuture.

    About the role

    This role is a job share.

    You'll be:


    • Providing direct line management to a small team of experienced staff


    • Ensuring the referral, induction and moving in process of all new residents is effective and trauma-informed.


    • Ensuring the support provided, and safeguarding processes are maintained to the highest standard.


    • Providing direction, support and supervision to our team of peer volunteers.


    • Overseeing all residents support reviews monitoring outcomes.


    • Nurturing the culture of the community

    About You

    We are looking for a flexible, well organised and passionate individual who is aware of the challenges our youngpeople may face. You will have experience of working with a similar client group, excellent communicationskills, and a creative approach to problem solving. You will also have line management experience, and bemotivated to work towards positive change.

    You will be joining a staff team committed to the highest quality of care and support, and always striving to developfurther. This means there will be great opportunities for you to both learn and develop, while sharing yourskills and experiences.

    An experienced and knowledgeable team member will provide full induction, and your line manager will provide regularsupport and supervision. You'll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning anddevelopment programme, and staff wellbeing services.

    Our Green Skills Centre offers group training and development work to young people and other groups at risk ofexperiencing homelessness. We realise that many 'at risk' groups can suffer from a nature deficit andsense of disconnection which can intensify and compound the struggles people face. We aim to be a restorativeand supportive influence. We offer workshops, accredited training and client-led learning pathways. Our learningwork includes sustainable horticulture, market gardening, woodland skills, peer-mentoring andoutdoor-education.

    About the post

    This is an exciting opportunity to be coordinate and help shape our new Green Skills project. You will work closelywith the Green Skills Centre team to deliver courses to recent school leavers, many of whom are likely to havegained few qualifications while at school. You will ensure young people are supported throughout the course andwill build relationships with each group. The role will include recruitment for the course and ensuring alldelivery is done in a person-centred way. You will work with the young people during and after the course toidentify the most appropriate next step for them such as further education, training or secure employment.

    About you

    You will be experienced in working with young people and have experience, or an understanding of mental health andthe challenges young people face when leaving school.

    Your ability to build excellent working relationships will enable you to motivate young people to engage with theservice. You should also have an interest in green skills, land, animals and the environment.

    This is a varied role that will require you to be well organised, able to work on your own initiative; and bepositive, creative and flexible in providing support.

    You'll be working independently as part of a team with a supportive manager. We will encourage you use yourcreativity to innovate new activities, and support you to introduce them.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Project Worker to join our Youth Homelessness Support Service,funded by Perth and Kinross Council the service aims to support young people to transistion from homelessnessinto settled accommodation, as well as supporting those in tenancies who may be at risk of eviction and youngpeople who want to return home and maintain relationships with their families. The Project Worker will work withyoung people aged 16-25 years.

    The Project Worker will be a leading member of the team, establishing positive relationships with partner agenciesacross Perth, working to ensure that youth homelessness rates reduce, and that a young person's experience ofhomelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.

    This post is ideal for a self-starter, who has previous experience of working in a supportive role in a paid orvoluntary capacity and is looking for a new challenge.

    For applicants that don't currently meet the requirements for registration as a support worker in a Housing Supportservice with the SSSC, this post can be offered as a technical apprenticeship giving the successful candidate apathway to achieving the SVQ level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care.
