- Communicate with customers regarding delivery times and address any possible delays.
- Handle phone calls politely and efficiently, taking orders, inquiries, and instructions from clients.
- Collaborate with the supply chain to ensure materials are in stock and ordered for upcoming orders.
- Coordinate with the fleet and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of all allocated orders as directed by the Transport planner.
- Proactively contact sites and customers to gather information on future orders and customer requirements.
- Maintain and update internal order sheets for accurate information entry and programming on Weighsoft.
- Assist in managing and optimizing the haulage fleet, including subcontractors.
- Act as a key point of contact with the B&A Group driving team and subcontractors.
- Plan efficient routes for all vehicles, focusing on cost-effectiveness.
- Provide drivers with essential routing information and site-specific instructions.
- Efficiently re-route drivers when necessary.
- Monitor and report on drivers' progress to clients when requested.
- Stay informed about road network issues and provide guidance to drivers.
- Facilitate communication between operations and the yard regarding incoming and outgoing materials.
- Assist in accident investigation and reporting.
- Handle administrative tasks accurately using Weighsoft.
- Assist in implementing new software to streamline quotation, planning, and dispatch functions of the transport department.
- Perform ad hoc duties when required.
- Previous experience in Logistics, Transport, or Fleet Management.
- Good geographical knowledge or experience in scheduling/route planning.
- Full UK driver's license.
- Ability to manage time effectively and use initiative.
- Flexible nature and strong work ethic with a can-do attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office systems and other office tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Polite, professional, and composed under pressure.

The ideal candidate will assist our Logistics and Operations manager in the daily planning and routing of our fleet of tippers to serve our customers delivering and collecting material from sites across the southwest. We are looking for an ambitious individual ready to take on a new challenge in supporting our experienced & dynamic team. Perhaps you already have experience in coordinating drivers, materials or a fleet of vehicles and are looking for a new challenge? This role would be well suited to individuals with a background/keen interest in Planning, Logistics or Transport Planning who are flexible, organised and used to working in a fast-paced environment.
