    Description

    Safari ward is a 24 bedded general paediatric ward which includes a 4 bedded level 2 HDU unit and a 4 bedded oncology shared care poscu.

    We look after children from 0-16years with general medical and surgical conditions. We take admissions from Paediatric ED, Hippo assessment unit and step down from PICU in tertiary centres. The department encourages and supports professional development including extended nursing skills, study modules at university and in-house study days such as the long term ventilation, Venepuncture & Cannulation and the high dependency course

    The post holder will play a key role in supporting the nurse managers in providing high quality care.

    He / she will be prepared to work within the divisions as a Named Nurse, within a Team taking responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.

    The post holder will be a clinically credible practitioner who can provide effective patient care in a range of clinical settings, having regard for relevant policies and the evidence base nursing
    Qualifications and Training
    RSCN or RN Child
    Current NMC registration
    Significant general paediatrics experience
    Previous experience of working with children and family.
