    Description

    Seat Unique is a leading company that specializes in offering fans exclusive access to top-tier sports, music, and cultural events. We take pride in being the go-to ticketing marketplace for renowned clubs and venues such as the Welsh Rugby Union, Yorkshire Cricket, Hampshire Cricket, and York Racecourse.

    At Seat Unique, we are at the forefront of digital innovation, providing clubs and venues with cutting-edge technology to streamline the hospitality booking process online. This not only enhances the overall customer experience but also grants fans round-the-clock access to premium event experiences.

    Our network of brand partnerships has experienced significant growth over the past months. We currently power hospitality and premium ticket sales through exclusive collaborations with 24 partners and have official ties with hundreds more.

    As we continue to expand since the launch of our website in September 2019, significant investments have been made in our business. With the support of esteemed figures like former Wales and Lions captain Sam Warburton OBE (Brand Ambassador), England Rugby Union legend Sir Clive Woodward OBE (Board Advisor), and Wales and Ospreys winger George North (Brand Ambassador), we are set for further success.

    Job Title: Back-end Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    • Build robust, scalable, secure, and fast APIs and services
    • Collaborate within a highly engaged and communicative agile team
    • Introduce fresh ideas to enhance our products leveraging your technical expertise
    • Foster a high-performance engineering culture with a focus on quality output
    • Implement software engineering best practices for a solid and scalable technical foundation

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrable proficiency in building back-end services using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
    • Extensive knowledge of the Rails and Ruby ecosystem, tools, and best practices
    • Experience with common Rails gems like Sidekiq, Devise, RSpec
    • Design and development of RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
    • Strong grasp of software architecture patterns and relational database management
    • Proven track record in scaling back-end services for high-traffic businesses
    • Proficiency in automated testing, cyber-security, performance optimization, and software design patterns
    • Background in agile, cross-functional teamwork and collaboration
    • Effective communication, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills
    • Passionate about software engineering

    Bonus / Additional Skills:

    • Experience in building ecommerce and marketplace products
    • Interest in functional programming languages like Elixir and Phoenix
    • Cloud infrastructure deployment and management, particularly using IaC and Kubernetes on AWS
    • Degree in Computer Science or related field
