    Description

    We are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to work as part of our team at our Shipley Lodge service, Heanor Derbyshire.

    Shipley Lodge is a 16-bed single-level building for male and female clients. It provides a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment with facilities that support recovery and increasing independence. Residents have own bedroom with en-suite wet room. There are communal kitchens, bathrooms with baths & various living and dining areas. There is a home kitchen and laundry, but people are supported to use the independent facilities as much as they are able. Every room has a 'nurse call button' and there are call points throughout the home. We encourage people to make their rooms their own with personal items and choices about décor.

    All our CQC services aim to support people to achieve maximum independence, and to move on to more independent accommodation. We believe in a person-centred approach and the involvement of individuals in all aspects of their support.

    How you will make a difference as a Deputy Manager:

    • Leading day to day clinical and operational management activities of a registered service under the direction of the Registered Manager.
    • Act as deputy to the Registered Manager in times of their absence.
    • Providing performance reports to the Registered Manager and Associate Director of Nursing, Safety & Clinical Services.
    • Offering supervision and line management of a team of Mental Health Recovery Workers
    • Conduct audits and spot checks related to practice across the service.
    • Working closely with the Registered Manager and Lead Nurse at the services to deliver effective and person-centered support to the residents of the services.
    • Managing and coordinating statutory clinical team relationships,
    • Acting independently within the parameters of the role, referring to the Registered Manager as required.
    • Working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the service operates in accordance with the service agreement ensuring full compliance with the professional and regulatory standards.
    • Ensuring the service provided meets and exceeds the service users' needs, requirements of the service and the CQC fundamental standards.

    Who I am?

    Some of the essential skills and experience required for this role:

    • I have achieved, working towards or willing to undertake NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care or the equivalent.
    • At least 2 years relevant supervisory experience in a health and social care setting.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards for CQC registered services, including the need for the management and delivery of person-centred services.
    • I am able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service
    • I am willing to be On Call when the service requires me to
    • Experience of providing effective supervision, leadership and management of staff.
    • Must have experience of directly working with people with a severe mental illness.
    • Must have experience of working within statutory agencies.
    • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
    • Competent Safeguarding skills and knowledge.
    • Good understanding of Confidentiality and Information Governance.
    • Demonstrable leadership qualities ability to effectively manage performance and conduct of others.

    *Appointments will be made at the bottom of the salary banding
