    Description

    Job Description The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is seeking a skilled and motivated Contracts Manager to join our Innovations and Intellectual Property (IP) team.

    This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of healthcare and medical research in the UK by facilitating the translation of research findings into tangible products and interventions.

    The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

    We work in partnership with the NHS, universities, local government, other research funders, patients, and the public.

    The NIHR funds, enables, and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Manager to join our Research Programmes Directorate at LGC Ltd.

    As a Research Manager, you will play a key role in driving the strategic development and delivery of both NIHR and non-NIHR research funding programmes.

    Research and articulate potential research investment opportunities
    Undertake due diligence of proposals based on critical assessment of healthcare-related projects
    Negotiate funding agreements for projects recommended for funding
    Manage a portfolio of funded projects
    Lead or support strategic development initiatives
    Assist with the quality control of minutes and external documentation
    Prepare regular and ad hoc programme reports, papers, and minutes
    A degree in biomedical, health, or social sciences, or equivalent experience in the field
    Strong ability to communicate effectively and experience in building relationships with various individuals and teams.
    Track record in successful project and programme management
    Excellent writing and attention to detail
    Excellent planning and organisational skills
    Experience in a research management environment

    Preferred:
    PhD in a medical, scientific, technical, or social field. Knowledge of the UK's health and care research landscape

    NB:
