They will support the development of the service by taking part in audits, quality improvement, and risk assessment/management in line with local and national guidelines. This post requires you to work hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays, and is not negotiable due to the service's needs.

They will provide specialist palliative care advice and support to patients, those important to them, and all healthcare professionals involved in their care as appropriate. The post holder will support staff across MFT with their professional development in response to incidents and self-identified needs to ensure all staff are prepared and equipped to care for patients with palliative and end-of-life care needs. They will be able to recognize and address issues around palliative care, including cancer treatments, pain and symptom management, psychosocial needs and barriers, ethical dilemmas, and seek senior support when needed from the doctors and senior nursing team. The post holder will formulate individualized plans of care for patients in liaison with the senior supportive & palliative care nursing team and doctors. They will act as a core team member of the palliative care MDT, recognizing that their individual actions represent the team as a whole, and personal beliefs should not impact care.
