    Job Title: Paediatric Endocrine Specialist Practitioner

    Company: Manchester NHS Trust (MFT)

    This is a great opportunity for a Band 6 experienced children and young people's nurse interested in paediatric obesity and endocrinology to join our team as a Paediatric Endocrine Specialist Practitioner. As part of a new MDT team focusing on complications of excess weight (CEW), you'll play a key role in providing expert clinical knowledge and leadership.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Provide clinical expertise in the assessment and management of children and young people with obesity and weight-related complications.
    • Monitor and enhance standards of care through supervision, audit, evidence-based practice, and professional leadership.
    • Contribute to clinical governance processes, run Nurse-led clinics, and coordinate MDT responsibilities.
    • Support wards and departments caring for CEW patients and engage in research activities. Pursue or hold a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.

    Requirements as per Person Specification:

    RSCN/RN Child

    Essential

    • Experienced children's nurse.

    Experience with Working with Children with Endocrine Conditions

    • Experience in managing endocrine conditions in children.

    Mentorship/Preceptorship

    Desirable

    • Mentor qualification.

    Ability to Work Independently and as Part of an MDT

    Essential

    • Demonstrated capability in independent and team-based work.

    Graduate

    Essential

    • Graduate-level 6 studies.

    IT

    Essential

    • Proficient in IT applications like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

    Experience in Research

    Desirable

    • Familiarity with research processes and completion of research-related courses/modules.

    Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification

    Desirable

    • Non-Medical Prescribing.

    Leadership

    Essential

    • Completion of a Leadership course or module.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills.
