    Aboutthe job

    Responsible forcoordinating the production outputs of all designers managingprocurement activities and consolidating subcontract information toestablish a baseline preconstruction delivery programme for eachproject from project inception feasibility tender and bid phases tocompletion. The role involves constant communication with designersand construction site personnel to update programmes regularlyreview progress and assess key project deliverables. The planningteam provides support throughout thisprocess.

    The projects vary in type and includelarge EHV cabling substation construction and new BESSprojects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Liaisewith civil and electrical designers to build a design programmefrom the information given and coordinate their input into planningactivities.
    • Assist in project planning from 1stprinciples scheduling and monitoring progress updating ofprogrammes throughout the duration and life cycle ofProjects.
    • Analyse data to generate projectschedules.
    • Ability to provide regular progressupdates and reports on projecttimelines.
    • Dealing with designers andcommunicating progress into a Gantt Chartformat
    • Contribute to the resolution of anyscheduling conflicts or issues and highlight areas ofconcern.
    • Be aware of change control processes:including EW CE that may need furtherdevelopment.
    • Review construction progress fromdesigners supply chain with input from the constructionteam
    • Assist the Project Manager as directedwith planning related matters.
    • Attend meetingsdesign and progress meeting as required with Project Teams andClients.
    • Liaise with Clients PlannersConstruction Managers and Project Managers asrequired.
    • Attend site and designers offices forweekly and monthly reporting.
    • Collation ofprogress information & production of progress reporting asrequired.
    • Support in maintaining projectdocumentation andrecords.

    QualificationsandRequirements:

    • PrimaveraP6 knowledge desirable will supportdevelopment.
    • Knowledge of the constructionindustry civils and electrical desirable.
    • Awareof construction Forms of Contracts NEC FIDIC & JCTForms.
    • HNC (Construction related) orequivalent.
    • Demonstration of knowledge andpractical application of planning and constructionactivities.
    • An understanding to assessingplanning construction activities in logicalsequences.
    • Computer literate with a goodworking knowledge of various Microsoft Office applications andexcel etc.
    • Knowledge of planning and controlstools and techniques Microsoft Project and PrimaveraP6.
    • Construction Skills Certification Scheme(CSCS) card Visitor Yellow (can beobtained).
    • Keen on software knowledge and newtechnology developments.
    • DrivingLicence.
    • Potential for flexible workingarrangements and location if required.
    • Workingknowledge of the construction industry in utilities civilengineering constructiontechnology.
    • Understanding of constructiondrawings deliverables milestone dates andconstraints.
    • Aware of a BoQ and or activityschedules.
    • Demonstrating enthusiasm andconsistently delivering qualityperformance.
    • Improvement and innovation withthe desire to improve self and others.
    • Abilityto works across functions and individuals to ensure collaborativeworking.
