    GSK's Clinical Programming group brings together some of the most talented minds to explore and analyse clinical trial data. As a department we leverage advanced data analytics, principles of data science, and develop cutting-edge computational tools.     Your role as a Data Science Programmer/Analyst

    As a Data Science Programmer/Analyst at GSK, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical research teams through providing programming expertise and support. Under the guidance of experienced professionals within the Biostatistics department, you will gain valuable experience in programming tasks associated with clinical trial reporting. With hands-on training, you will become proficient in programming languages such as SAS and R and will use these to analyse and report clinical trial data.

    In addition to these technical skillsets, you will gain exposure to industry-standard tools, methodologies, and regulatory requirements which are all essential to the drug delivery pipeline.

    You will have the opportunity to...

    • Collaborate with top clinical statisticians, programmers, and operational experts in the delivery of clinical trial results to progress medicines through drug development.
    • Receive training in SAS, R and other programming languages, and build these newly acquired skills further through the analysis and reporting of clinical trial data.
    • Acquire domain expertise in a variety of data structures and standards that govern clinical studies.
    • Explore and wrangle complex data sources.
    • Produce analytics and visualisations to deliver insights from data and improve interpretation of results.
    • Explore defining programming strategies for clinical trial reporting and regulatory submissions (planning and execution).
    • Develop and maintain tools, such as applications and coding packages, to support modern Biostatistics ways of working and accelerate pipeline delivery.
    • Become familiar with industry-wide best practices and help to define and support the use of standards across the Clinical Programming function.
    • Implement quality control tests within clinical trial pipelines, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high quality deliveries.

    Candidate Profile:

    • A resilient and proactive attitude with scientific reasoning
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills

    Minimum requirements:

    Education required: An UndergraduateDegree preferably in mathematics / statistics, computer science or a science / technology related discipline. Basic programming experience in any language.

    Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

    Location: GSK House or Stevenage.

    Expected Start date: September 2024

    Assessment Centre Date: June 2024
