The Department of Older People's services at the Royal London Hospital, is undergoing an exciting period of growth and expansion.
We are a department who are dedicated and committed to our older patients and strive to ensure that that our patients receive the best possible care.
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about geriatric medicine and are innovative and motivated to develop new services,The post holder has the opportunity of working in our department which is a part of a world renowned busy inner city London teaching hospital.
As a teaching hospital we welcome individuals who are interested in teaching and research and the post holder will be encouraged and supported in developing these interests.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Geriatric Medicine or be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date.
Individuals who demonstrate a commitment to service development, education and training or other academic achievement will be welcomed.This is a full-time post, but we are happy to consider those who wish to work less than full time in this role.

Higher specialist training in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine
Broad experience in Geriatric Medicine and G(I)M
Prior experience of developing, delivering services in geriatric medicine
Detailed knowledge of Older People Services and G(I)M and of the specialist skills required for this post
Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients
Understanding of modern medical curricula and commitment to life-long learning
Experience of supervising medical staff
Ability to teach medical students and junior medical and nursing staff.
Previous experience developing, delivering and leading education and training within a department
Ability to develop research projects and supervise trainees in their research
Flexible and co-operative approach to colleagues
Team player with leadership qualities
