    Cloud Platform Engineering Manager: £60,000-85,000

    As our Cloud Platform Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for architecting and managing the AWS-based cloud platform at Twinkl. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation. You will lead a dynamic team of cloud engineers in delivering a scalable, secure, and performant cloud environment.

    As we embark on a transformative journey to integrate a robust cloud platform, we are seeking a seasoned Cloud Platform Engineering Manager to lead this initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of technology in education.

    Born in a Sheffield bedroom, we've grown into a global powerhouse with over 1500 employees in 13 short years and are now the UK's digital education giant and a global leader in our field.
    Our technical remit already spans subscription services, recurring payments, digital downloads, streaming, futuristic experiences in AR, online web games and native mobile applications, but we're at the start of a technical transformation journey.

    Now, backed by strategic investment, we're evolving our ways of working to sustainably expand our technical platform which will support us in our ambitious growth plans.

    We already have some well formed plans around our migration to the cloud, the rebuilding of our front end tech stack into a modern SSR React application along with the modernisation of our expansive backend technical platform.

    • Developing the craft: Dive deep into the world of AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security. Get hands-on with implementation, and ensure our platform is secure, reliable, and always ready to grow.

    Requirements

    • A deep passion for cloud technologies, AWS, and a desire to lead innovation in education technology.
    • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS and serverless technology.
    • Leadership experience, building and managing high-performing teams that exceed expectations.
    • Knowledge of AWS services, security best practices, and a strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
    • An ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
