    TRADING ANALYST

    Overview

    At Fortescue we are leading the global energy transition by developing a portfolio of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. Our large scale, low-cost hydropower, geothermal, solar and wind assets will support establishment of green energy and green product industries around the world. Fortescue is committed to building thriving communities by delivering social, environmental, and economic benefits.

    Fortescue Energy is establishing a Trading desk, which will be at the forefront of developing the green energy market. The team will focus on the development of green energy pricing mechanisms, and trading and sourcing product to optimise margin. An exciting opportunity for a Trading Analyst has arisen within the team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support Fortescue's energy trading desk, including all processes, risk management frameworks & limits, and systems.
    • Support with the design market entry approach and trading strategy.
    • Foster collaborative relationships internally within Fortescue and externally with market participants.
    • Development and maintenance of models and systems to support the team's operational activities and analysis.
    • Responsible for gaining an understanding and maintaining awareness of all energy market changes to ensure the company remains compliant with industry regulations at all times.

    Person Specification

    Experience:

    • Relevant degree preferably in Finance / Economics/ Energy Trading.
    • Knowledge of the energy or commodities markets and ideally an understanding of the UK/European Grids.
    • European languages desirable.
    • Track record in working across a diverse range of cultures and teams.
    • Proficient in Excel and VBA Skills.
