We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Oligonucleotide Production team as a Production Scientist supporting the purification and manufacturing of highly complex oligonucleotides.

This is an exciting and challenging role as part of the newly established Oligonucleotide Production facility based at the Harwell Campus site. The oligonucleotide production team aims to produce a range of high-quality, complex oligonucleotide standards to support our Sequencing Kit product range. Collaboration, innovation, and quality are at the forefront of our team's vision as we grow the facility to support the rapid expansion of the product range.

The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the team to establish and run the manufacturing processes for the oligonucleotide purification facility. This is an opportunity to help shape a new department providing real impact to the wider company. • Purification of complex oligonucleotides primarily using preparative HPLC.
• Performing HPLC, CE and LC-MS analytical testing for in-process and end-point monitoring of quality.
• Carrying out oligonucleotide conjugation procedures and SPE clean-up protocols.
• High throughput, automated sample handling workflows ensuring low cross-contamination.
• Following quality systems in line with ISO standards.
• Upkeep of laboratory space including the maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
• Ensuring a safe working environment for all team members and a culture of continuous improvement for health & safety.
• Ensuring the smooth transfer of new purification methods from Development into Production.
• Preparing clearly articulated experimental reports and maintaining well-organised records.
• Working and communicating effectively with other groups in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Development and external suppliers.
• Time to focus on career development and building connections within the company.

What We're Looking For...

• A clear and consistent focus on the highest safety standards.
• Experience in a relevant industrial production environment.
• Experience working in a GxP regulatory laboratory would be advantageous.
• BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant subject would be advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of oligonucleotide analytical and preparative techniques is desired.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organisation skills and attention to detail will be essential.

Training will be given and, as such, a willingness to learn and develop is required.
