    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PaediatricPhysiotherapist in the Childrens Therapies team at the Oxford Childrens Hospital.We are seeking an eager candidate who is able to provide a high standard ofphysiotherapy services to all paediatric patients within speciality areas ofAcute Respiratory, Cystic Fibrosis, Oncology/haematology and Elective InpatientOrthopaedics.

    Main duties of the job

  • Toprovide an effective and efficient physiotherapy service to patients, includingassessing, treating and delegating the changing workload within the designatedspecialist area and wider Paediatric caseload.
  • Performspecialist assessment of patients, and from this formulate a diagnosis andtreatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Toimprove paediatric skills and knowledge through the various speciality areas.There will also be the opportunity to gain experience in Neurorehabilitationand Trauma patients.
  • Assistin the supervision, and teaching of Band 5 physiotherapists, and physiotherapystudents.
  • Supportthe team leader and undertake delegated responsibilities.
  • Tobe aware of and operate within specific legal and national frameworks inrelation to the care of children. The Children Act

    The Trust/Ward/Department

    Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one ofthe largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range ofgeneral and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education,training, and research. The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John RadcliffeHospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington andthe Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

    Most Children'sServices in Oxford are based at the Children's Hospital on the John RadcliffeHospital site in a purpose-built environment for children. Services are alsoprovided in the main John Radcliffe Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre,Women's Centre and Horton General Hospital in Banbury. We provide a wide rangeof specialty services for children from throughout the Thames Valley andbeyond. Services are largely provided by paediatricians and surgeons withparticular paediatric specialist interests, but who also provide the generalpaediatric service.

    The Responsibilities

  • Tobe successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Current relevant professional registration
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Enhanced DBS
  • UK/NHS experience
  • Proficient IT knowledge and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience of working in Paediatrics
  • Computer literate with experience of working with Microsoft Office
