    Area Manager Care & Support (Nithsdale) (Fixed Term)
    A position has risen for an Area Manager within Care and Support Services (CASS).

    This is an excellent opportunity to gain management experience within the Health & Social Care Partnership as this vacancy is primarily to provide Maternity Cover it will be for up to one year and therefore may also be suitable for secondment.

    As an established, well performing Care at Home and Day Care provider covering the whole of the Dumfries and Galloway region, we are looking for someone with the necessary passion, skills, and commitment to help us meet the challenges associated with care provision.

    We are committed to supporting our staff and helping growth and development whilst delivering quality outcomes for the Service Users we support.

    As an Area Manager within the Health and Social Care Partnership, you will be required to work in a collaborative manner within your nominated locality as well as other locality areas across the region as required.

    You will represent the services at internal and external meetings, supporting the service in accordance with Council policies and ensuring all duties are carried out in compliance with the Council's Code of Practice along with the Scottish Social Services Council Code of Conduct, and the Health and Social Care Standards, which underpin all aspects of the care we provide and forms part of the Care Inspectorate inspection process.

    You will be responsible for the direct and indirect management of supervisors and care & support workers including providing support out of hours on a standby basis that is shared with other managers and forms part of a planned rota.

    You must have an awareness of legislation and regulation surrounding Social Care.

    As well as being responsible for your own personal development, you will act as a role model within the service and help others to improve their knowledge and practice within the teams you are responsible for.

    A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post.

    However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

    This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

    This post is fixed term for up to 1 year to cover a maternity leave.
