- A water company based in Coventry, England that supplies 4.6 million households and business with a responsibility to supply freshwater and treat sewage for around 8 million people living in the Midlands of England and also a small area of Wales.
- This is a senior role within the client's Capital Delivery team, responsible for directing a project team on major improvements to their wastewater networks. You'll be accountable for a number of projects from inception to completion, and you'll guide and develop a multi-disciplined team to ensure successful delivery to time, cost, and quality commitments.
- Your leadership, ownership, accountability, and contribution are key, and success will be measured in how our client delivers their projects to the business and ensure smooth integration into their operational business as usual. You'll also play a role in their project management community, establishing best practices and supporting the development of project managers and apprentices, and creating relationships.
- Taking accountability throughout the project lifecycle, governance compliance, and internal/external stakeholder engagement leading to the smooth transition into operational business.
- Supporting the definition of solutions to meet the project objectives and will be responsible for preparing a clear business case.
- Developing the best procurement strategy for the programme and oversee the production of the specifications and contract documentation.
- Leading the procurement process with support from the procurement team to successful contract award.
- Developing a strategy for obtaining any required third-party consents, highlighting programme and project risks relating to consents required.
- Effective liaison with the relevant town planning authorities as well as key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
- Promoting and sustain our clients health and safety vision throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Working closely and collaboratively with technical and commercial teams and all internal and external project stakeholders to ensure that project timescales and objectives are met.
- Managing and assuring the performance of contractors to deliver programme outcomes to time, cost, and quality.
- Managing risks, issues, and change in a fully transparent manner through effective reporting and escalation.
- Contributing to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
- Managing all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for the client.
- Manging contractors and consultants, including discharging responsibilities under CDM regulations.
- an Engineering or other relevant degree
- Either achieved or are working towards chartered status
- A recognised project management qualification
- Experience of working with NEC contracts
- A good knowledge of the CDM Regulations
